System Alliance is repositioning itself

At the turn of the year, System Alliance GmbH is creating a new presence by founding two new companies and sending an important signal to potential new partners.

On 1 January 2022, the planned unbundling of the System Alliance and the formation of its new legal structure came into force. The re-foundation of System Alliance Netzwerk GmbH and System Alliance Hub Betriebsgesellschaft mbH is not only intended to make it easier for potential partners to join the network. The cooperation also opens up new economic potential through the division of responsibilities.

New legal structures for more flexibility

In addition to the founding of two new companies, System Alliance GmbH continues to exist as a pure real estate company and owner of the property in Niederaula under the management of Managing Director Gudrun Raabe. The legal separation of the HUB makes joining the cooperation even more attractive for potential shareholders. Previously, shareholder status was inextricably linked to ownership of the property. The existing partners of the System Alliance, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics Germany GmbH & Co. KG, Gebrüder Weiss GmbH, Streck Transportgesellschaft mbH and Friedrich Zufall GmbH & Co. KG, continue to hold their shares in all three companies.

We have a perfectly equipped 8,500 square metre handling area. From general cargo and partial loads to hazardous goods – we can handle virtually anything.

In the spotlight: the HUB in Niederaula

The HUB is and remains the central transshipment point for the cooperation’s Hub traffic. But new customers who are not members of the general cargo network will also be able to use the HUB flexibly outside of the main transshipment area. “We have a perfectly equipped 8,500 square metre handling area. From general cargo and partial loads to hazardous goods – we can handle virtually anything. There is even a semi-automatic sorting system available for packages weighing up to 31.5 kg,” explains Gudrun Raabe, Managing Director of System Alliance Hub Betriebsgesellschaft mbH. In addition, temperature-controlled shipments can be handled in a temperature-controlled hall that is kept at a temperature of between 16 and 18 degrees all year round. This means that companies that are not members of the network can also tap into additional cross docking capacities in central Germany as required and have transports consolidated, sorted and reloaded in Niederaula.

With the restructuring of our medium-sized general cargo partnership, we are responding to increasing customer expectations and a changing general cargo market.

General cargo transport at the customary high level

Stephan Opel will take over the management of System Alliance Netzwerk GmbH and thus responsibility for network operations. “With the restructuring of our medium-sized general cargo partnership, we are responding to increasing customer expectations and a changing general cargo market. We are also laying the foundation for new business developments,” reports Opel, who has been part of the System Alliance’s management team since September last year. His main tasks will continue to be to strengthen and expand the network. This internal restructuring will not change anything in terms of services and support for existing System Alliance customers.
